Fast Five, a movie about robbing a bank with as many Dodge Chargers as possible, opens with a memorable action sequence: Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto and company are tasked with stealing vintage cars from a train. One, a Ford GT40 that is the key to a criminal mastermind's financial network, is the plot-driving purpose of the scene. But it's the other, a C2 Corvette Grand Sport speedster, that stars in the actual stunts.

Twelve Corvette hero cars were made for the film, all by Mongoose Motorsports. Of those, three survived production. One of those three is for sale.

This car, said to be the best surviving example from filming, was used as a model for green screen shots. Since it was used for those shots and not for stunt driving, this means this was also the car stars Vin Diesel and Paul Walker spent most of their time interacting with during the shoot. It survived thanks to the film's transportation coordinator, who purchased it for his own personal collection after filming was completed.

This particular C2 replica is built from a custom tube frame, powered by a 380-horsepower small block V-8 mated to an automatic transmission. This example is built to replicate the look of Grand Sport #001, a C2-based racing car that briefly ran during the 1963 season, although it is painted in a road-going silver rather than the racing blue that particular car wore. This Corvette is set to be auctioned by Volo Cars in April, with an estimated final hammer price of $95,000-$100,000.
