It’s been a few months now since Stellantis pulled the cover off of the production version of the 2025 Ram 1500 REV during Super Bowl LVII festivities. With the New York International Auto Show now underway, the automaker is finally ready to share some details about the truck’s battery options, range estimates, payload, and towing capabilities.

From the moment Ram showed off its EV truck concept, the brand has been clear about its segment goals. The automaker specifically stated its plans to produce a segment-leading vehicle, including range, payload, towing capacity, and charge times. While that may have sounded like a bit of marketing lingo, Ram is ready to start to back up some of those claims.

It all starts with the truck’s pair of battery pack options, which support the STLA Frame chassis that underpins the Ram 1500 REV. A 168-kWh battery pack will come as standard across the Ram 1500 REV lineup, with Stellantis estimating that the pack should provide up to 350 miles of range. For reference, the standard range battery available for the Ford F-150 Lightning measures at just 98 kWh, providing just 230 miles of range per charge. Ram apparently wasn’t satisfied with that disparity, going as far as to add a 229 kWh extended-range battery pack to the options list. That pack is so large that it even surpasses the GMC Hummer EV’s Miata-sized 212-kWh pack. Ram says the gigantic battery should allow customers to drive up to 500 miles on a single charge. The company also states that a new XR model with class dominating range is to follow in the near future.

When you’re dealing with large battery packs like the ones found in the Ram 1500 REV lineup, charging speeds become very important. Thankfully for prospective Ram EV customers, the automaker hasn’t skimped in that department. Thanks to the truck’s 800-volt fast charging architecture, Ram owners will be able to add up to 110 miles of range in just ten minutes at speeds up to 350 kW. The truck also supports vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-home, and vehicle-to-grid bi-directional charging, which brings a ton of flexibility and different use cases for the vehicle. There’s even an onboard power system available in the bed and frunk, providing up to 7.2 kW and 3.6 kW of power, respectively.

Of course, truck customers need to do more than just travel long distances. In order to satisfy those needs, Ram has focused heavily on their EV’s towing and payload capabilities. The Ram 1500 REV will have a maximum payload capacity of 2700 pounds, which sits ahead of the Lightning’s 2235-pound rating. The truck is also slated to beat out its competitors in towing capacity, thanks to its claimed 14,000-pound rating.

That metric steps ahead of the F-150 Lightning again, which can tow up to 10,000 pounds when equipped with the extended range battery. The Ram doesn’t beat the Ford in every metric, however, with Ram confirming output targets of 654 horsepower and 620 lb-ft of torque out of its dual 250-kilowatt electric drive modules. The Ford only produces 426 hp, but it brings a supercar-rivaling 775 lb-ft of torque to the party. Ram says the truck should be able to rip off a 0-60 sprint in 4.4 seconds. The F-150 Lightning was able to do the run in 4.0 seconds during Car and Driver’s testing.

The 2025 Ram 1500 REV model lineup will look familiar to current Ram buyers, with five trims including Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Limited, and the all-new Tungsten. The latter is the new range-topper, complete with an entire suite of premium goodies. These include items like a bespoke Indigo/Sea Salt interior, complete with a suede-wrapped headliner and pillars. The 24-way power-adjustable front seats are finished in premium quilted leather and are heated, ventilated, and provide massage functionality. Unique trim, bezels and badging throughout help separate the truck from the rest of the lineup, as do features like a 23-speaker Klipsch Reference Premiere audio system and dual wireless chargers. Other Ram 1500 REV models won’t be hurting for tech either, as the truck comes backed by the latest UConnect 5 infotainment system. The system runs through an entire collection of screens, including a 14.5-inch central touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch passenger screen. Other tech highlights include a digital rearview mirror, a configurable heads-up display, as well as ADAS features like Hands-free Active Driving Assist and the ParkSense automated parking system.

Ram has not yet shared details about the pricing model for the 1500 REV, nor has it confirmed when customers can expect deliveries to take place. While those are both going to be important factors surrounding the truck’s sales debut, the capability on offer is hard to argue against. One thing that is certain however is the fact that the battle for the electric truck segment is only going to get more intense.
