We love a good restoration series here at Road & Track, and this one right up our alley. It documents a tired V-12 E38-generation 7-Series as it's brought back to its former glory, getting treated to a whole bunch of new parts, maintenance upgrades, and more.

This series of videos comes to us from the M539 Restorations YouTube channel—the same channel we saw get a neglected BMW 850i restarted after 16 years of sitting. Clearly, big-engined BMWs are their specialty.

This latest project is a 750iL sedan, fully decked out with fold-out trays, electrically powered rear seats, and a massive V-12 engine under the hood. Purchased sight-unseen from Dubai, it needed a whole bunch of new parts to pass inspection in the host's home country of Germany, so he got to work tackling the car's problems. After looking over the car in part one (above), he got to work replacing a majority of the suspension, and addressing a few leaks in part two (below).

Then, in part three, we get to see a whole bunch of much-needed maintenance done. The batteries, spark plugs, belts, pulleys, distributor rotors, fuel filter, brakes, tires, and rear light clusters are all replaced. Additionally, the transmission is given a major service, and the driveshaft rubber is swapped out. If you love seeing cool old cars get the treatment they deserve, it's all immensely satisfying to watch.
