If you're bored of BMW M cars and Mercedes-AMGs, this car is the perfect alternative. It's an ultra-rare Jaguar XJ12 tuned by Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR), the firm that became the competition arm of Jaguar in the 1980s, winning Le Mans and building cars like the XJ220 and XJR-15. It's for sale right now on Craigslist in Los Angeles. You should buy it.

Welcome to You Must Buy, our daily look at the cars you really should be buying instead of that boring commuter sedan.

This car, known as the XJ12 TWR, is one of just two examples in the United States, and around 30 worldwide, according to the seller. It's a 5.3-liter V-12-powered 1987 XJ that's been heavily upgraded both cosmetically and mechanically. Outside, it sports custom bumpers, fiberglass sideskirts, and a lovely set of color-matching Speedline wheels. There's custom-tuned Bilstein dampers underneath, along with a modified steering rack.

According to the seller, the car was ordered new by pro golfer John Woodhall, and shows only 40,800 miles on the odometer. Judging by the pictures, it looks to be in great condition, with pictures of the underbody, engine bay, and interior. And though some of the pictures show the car on newer alloy wheels, the ad specifies the car will come included with the Speedlines, which is a relief.

The car is currently listed on Craigslist in Los Angeles, California with an asking price of $25,000. Because these cars are so rare, it's hard to judge whether that's a fair price. It's a whole lot more than any other XJ12 on Craigslist right now, that's for sure. But honestly, it might be worth the price just because it's so different from anything else.
