Normal luxury cars are nice, but there's no beating the pure comfort and relaxation that comes along with spending time in a last-gen Toyota Century. Mr. Regular of Regular Car Reviews got a chance to do so himself, and it seems he walked away a different man.
The second-generation Century (also called the G50), is the only Japanese production car to feature a V12 engine. Called the 1GZ-FE, it uses two ECUs for either bank of cylinders, and comes equipped with five individual sets of mufflers to ensure occupants will never hear it—remember, this is a luxury car, not a sports car.
Instead of leather, the interior is lined with wool; it's resistant to moisture and heat, and also muffles sound. There's a DVD player, an in-car phone, and even a passthrough in the front passenger seat so rear occupants can put their legs through. This is true luxury, people.
Mr. Regular likes the Century so much he declares it the best car he's ever driven, beating out the Volkswagen Phaeton he drove a few years ago. We can see why.
